What does it mean by engine marking

Engine marking defines as the marking that must be set in order to get a good firing systems to make the engine starts.There are a few components involved such as timing bearing,timing belt,crankshaft pulley and timing belt pulley.


There are a few rules that must be followed to set the engine marking.

1) Must put the upper pulley mark accurately with distributor arm or rotor arm mark.
2) Must put the lower pulley mark accurately with the crankshaft mark.
3) When putting the timing belt clip make sure the upper pulley mark and the down pulley mark still at the same place so that the engine can easily start after installation.
4) Make sure putting the upper and lower timing oil seal properly to prevent any engine oil leaks.
5)Make sure upper pulley tighten properly and close it by timing cover.
